January 7, 2018 – Epiphany Sunday – Sermon/Announcements

January 7, 2018 Sermon – Epiphany

January 7, 2018

A: Arise, shine; for your light has come,
C: And the glory of the LORD has risen upon us. (Isaiah 60: 1)

Welcome to the first Sunday of the Epiphany Season, all you hardy souls who braved the frigid cold! A special welcome to any guests visiting with us today. We prayed you would come and hope you will allow us to further greet you after worship.

*This month’s Jesus is Our Light devotionals for adults and children are ready for you today. If you didn’t get one as you entered, please get one in the narthex as you exit.

*2018 offering envelopes are available in the church lobby today. They are in alphabetical order, with one box containing weekly envelopes and one box for those who requested monthly offering envelopes. Pick yours up today. To help us save postage, would you please deliver envelopes to anyone who lives near you, too? Thank you.

*A January coffee fellowship sign-up sheet has been posted at Sign-up Central. Please sign up to support this community-building ministry. Remember, the refreshments can be simple, the paper products are provided and you can work with others. The most important part of this fellowship is the opportunity for the community to gather and greet one another. Thank you.

*The 2018 Sunday flower chart has also been posted at Sign-up Central. If you would like to sponsor flowers for a Sunday, you can do so by signing up on the chart and following the directions posted there. The cost of flowers is $39.00

* Our Poinsettias need homes! The hanging baskets and any other poinsettias are free to a good home. Take them today. Any remaining will be disposed.

This week’s concerns and joys:
*Best wishes to Sandy Fleming and Eric Kagle who celebrate birthdays this week.
