April 7, 2019 Sermon

Announcements ~ April 7, 2019

A:       Teach me your way, O Lord, C:      that I may walk in your truth.

Good morning, Church! God’s blessings to all this Fifth Sunday of Lent and a special welcome to any guests visiting with us today. We pray you blessed as we worship together.

*This Wednesday we continue our Lenten midweek suppers and worship. Soup and sandwiches at 6 pm. Worship at 7 p.m. Come rest in God’s Word and fellowship.

*Next Sunday is Palm and Passion Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week. Be sure to check in the April newsletter for special opportunities for prayer and worship the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of Holy Week. Make plans to incorporate special time with the Lord in that week leading to Easter.

*Great job, Haven! With only one more week to go, there are very few tags left on our giving tree in the narthex. We ask that all donated items be brought to church no later than next Sunday, April 14th. If you help put the basket together on April 17th, please sign-up on the attendance form today.  Again, thank you.

*Pick up your copy of the April newsletter in the church lobby. There is a great deal going on this coming month and you don’t want to miss opportunities for service OR fun.

* PLEASE come next Saturday morning, April 13th as we continue to spruce up Haven for Easter. There will be a variety of tasks indoors and outdoors. Read more in the bulletin and newsletter. We need MANY willing hands. Come give glory to God by helping to maintain the gift of Haven’s property.

*It’s time to gather goodies to fill the eggs for our annual hunt on Easter Sunday. We have several hundred eggs that need to be filled! Please put donations in the box in the lobby.

*Next Sunday, April 14th is the deadline for signing up for a portion of Haven’s vegetable garden. We’ll get it tilled. You plant and maintain your plot. If you, a friend or a neighbor are interested, sign up on the attendance form or at sign-up central.

*On Easter Sunday, there will be a potluck supper here at Haven at 5:30 pm. If you have no nearby family and would like to come, please sign-up on the attendance form or at Sign-Up Central by next Sunday so we can make plans. More information is in today’s bulletin.

This week’s concerns and joys:

*We would like to offer our condolences to Kelly Bracken and family as they grieve the loss of her mother, Pat Williams. Please keep Kelly and family in your prayers.

*Pam O’Connor is still at Coffman Rehab and Nursing Home for physical therapy. Terry Trovinger is home still recovering from an eye infection. Please keep Terry and Pam in prayer.

*Best wishes to Tanner Meredith, Clare Newcomer, Jon Schupp, Maura Haupt, Stephanie Meredith, Karla Pile and Sharron Moser who celebrate birthdays this week. A belated “congratulations” to Ed and Prue Yelinek who had a wedding anniversary last Friday.

A: We now we prepare for worship as we listen to the prelude.
