June 2, 2019 Sermon – Ascension Sunday

Announcements  – June 2, 2019

A: I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;

C: I will sing praise to my God while I have being.                                  (Psalm 104: 33)

 *God’s blessings to all this final Sunday of the Easter season as we celebrate the Ascension of Our Lord. A special welcome to guests visiting with us today.

*Today’s coffee fellowship will honor the graduates of the class of 2019. Stay to add your congratulations.

* Pastor Alessandri will continue to share pictures, stories and learnings from her January trip to Israel during the adult Sunday School class today. We will ring a bell in the parlor during coffee fellowship to signal the beginning of the class. All are welcome.

*We have begun our summer worship schedule. Each Saturday there is a spoken service with Holy Communion at 5 p.m. On Sunday, there is worship at 9:30 am with music. The dress is casual at both services. Come offer the Lord your praise and prayers and be nourished by God’s word and meal.

*Next week, after the Sunday Pentecost worship service, there will be a meeting in the parlor to decide if we will have a School Supply Giveaway and/or a Block Party this August. Come and see where the Holy Spirit will lead us.

*The June newsletter is available in the lobby today. A reminder to teams and other groups that the next newsletter will be a combined July AND August edition. Be sure to send the church secretary information about anything you would like to publicize for July AND August by the June 15th deadline.

*The deadline for ordering geraniums has been extended! You can still order them TODAY. Envelopes are out in the lobby.

This week’s concerns and joys:

*Best wishes to Pat Pile, Dave Kaplan, Dawn Freeman, Morgan Butsch and Josh Webb who celebrate birthdays this week. Congratulations to Don and Darylene Blickenstaff and Valerie and Grant Wills who have wedding anniversaries this week.

A: Rejoicing in God’s saving grace, we seek our Lord’s wisdom and strength:
