Announcements from August 27 & 28

August 27 & 28, 2016
A: Bless the LORD, O my soul
C and all that is within me, bless God’s holy name. (Psalm 103: 1)
*God’s blessings to all.

*Please read the Haven Messenger for all the different ways you can participate in God’s Work Our Hand’s weekend September 10 & 11. You can choose from projects that involve quilting, crocheting, cutting, yard work, and painting. Haven is sponsoring a meal at the Hagerstown Rescue Mission. Look over the options. Sign up today if you’d like to help with the meal for the Rescue Mission or the yard and painting projects. Let’s see how many Haven members we can get to use their hands for God’s Work September 10th and 11th.

* Please bring in empty, metal soup, vegetable or fruit cans for a confirmation project.
There is a box in the church lobby for the cans. Thank you.

*NEXT weekend we return to ONE worship service each weekend at 9:30 am each Sunday. Come worship during the Labor Day Weekend. It will be good to be together again.

*Information and registrations forms for Haven’s Women’s Retreat on October 8th are now available in the church lobby. Sign-up today, ladies.

This week’s concerns and joys:
*Nancy Newkirk is at Meritus Hospital for physical therapy. She will likely be there another week as they work to help Nancy to learn to use a walker without putting any weight on the leg with the tibial plateau fracture. Keep Nancy in prayer. Phone calls and late afternoon or evening visits are appreciated.

*Church secretary, Mary Grabill, will be back in the office this Monday. She is still recovering from her surgery and we will encourage her to wisely pace herself. Thank you to all who helped in the church office during her absence. It was a tremendous help.

*Dick Strobl is still at the hospital in Frederick. They are still hoping to soon transfer Dick to NMS Nursing Care on Marsh Pike for further recovery. Please keep Dick and Susan in prayers.

*There is no one that we know of who is celebrating a birthday or anniversary this week. If we’re wrong please let us know!

A: Rejoicing in God’s saving grace, we seek our Lord’s wisdom and strength:
C: “to honor God, to reach out with love to our members and the community and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
