May 6, 2018 Sermon – Partners in Gospel

Announcements  – May 6, 2018
A: This is the day the Lord has made, C: let us rejoice and be glad in it!
*Blessings this Easter Season to all and a special welcome to guests visiting with us today. We pray you are blessed as we worship and fellowship together.

*Vacation Bible School is returning to Haven on June 25th to 29th!! We will be taking children back to the time of Babylon to witness the faith and courage of Daniel. Here are ways you can help with this gospel outreach.
If you look on page 15 of your bulletin, (pause to let people get to the page)
1) You will see that we need camp sponsors to finance our VBS. Every $20 provides materials and a music CD for a child. Pick up donation envelopes in the lobby.
2) You will also see that we need folks who can sew simple tunics AND we need to borrow some items to decorate and cool our Babylon setting. If you can help with either of these, please indicate it on your attendance sheet.
3) One last thing for now — There are still a few of our new VBS yard signs that need to get out into Hagerstown. If your house is along a road that has a good amount of traffic, please take a sign to place in your yard to help us spread the news. We thank Pastor Dave and Melita Kaplan for sponsoring these new signs through the Jan Kaplan Memorial Fund.

* May’s church newsletter is available in the church lobby. Pick-up your copy today.

*God has given us beautiful property for our church. We need your help to keep it beautiful and inviting. Please sign up to care for one of Haven’s garden areas. A few hours each month is all it will take. Let’s honor our Lord by caring for God’s church.

*May 15th is Ladies Night Out at the Black-eyed Susan Restaurant. Sign up to attend at Sign-up Central. Friends are welcome, too.

*Since we have been blessed with so many new members, we thought it an opportune time to prepare a new pictorial directory. We will use pictures from the last photo directory unless you e-mail a new picture to the church office. Our church secretary, Mary, has also offered to take your picture if you contact her. Read about this project in our newsletter and help us get out an updated directory.

*Next Sunday is Mother’s Day. Ask your children to come to church with you, Moms! If your mother lives in the area, bring her to church. We will give thanks for Mothers and the gift of motherly love.

* Pastor Alessandri has one more announcement…..

This week’s concerns and joys:
*Best wishes to Tanaya Richards, Prue Yelinik, Jane Muse, Brian Muse and Sue Nelson who celebrate birthdays this week.
