Announcements ~ August 15, 2021

A:       I was glad when they said to me,
C:  “Let us go to the house of the Lord.                                     (Psalm 122:1)

* A special welcome to all our guests. What a blessing it is to be together in God’s presence to worship.

*Today Pastor Alessandri will continue to lead an Adult Sunday School series in the Gathering Room. In a real way, all churches have a fresh start as we move out of the pandemic. Where is the Holy Spirit calling Haven? That is what our series, “Thriving After Covid” is all about. Come join the discussion. Even if you have not attended any other session, you WILL be able to fully participate. There will be coffee and goodies and good fellowship and conversation around God’s word.

*Check out the Harvest for Hunger table in the church lobby. Parmesan Zucchini squares are back!

*Just THREE MORE ushers and we will have enough for each person to usher once a month. It’s easy and a blessing to our worshipping community. PLEASE sign up on your attendance sheet today!

*Haven’s choir will begin rehearsals on August 25th. Music director, Steve Pastena, invites veteran choir members and the new or unexperienced singers to come. More information in today’s bulletin.

*Pastor Alessandri will be leaving for Atlanta after Sunday School today and return on Friday. She will immediately go for a Covid test upon her return. If you are in need of pastoral care in her absence, please call Pastor Hoda whose phone number is in the bulletin. Pray for Pastor Alessandri’s safe travels.

This week’s concerns and joys:

*Thanks to all who have brought in school supplies for our Community School Supply Outreach Project. If you would like to help sort and pack up the supplies for our schools, come to the parlor tomorrow at 9:30 am.  Speak to Elaine Michael if you have any questions. God’s work. Our Hands. Blessed to be a blessing.

*Best wishes to Dave Resh, Sherrie Cameron and Jim Failor who celebrate birthdays this week.

 (after the prelude)

A:      Rejoicing in God’s saving grace, we seek our Lord’s wisdom and strength:
C:      “To honor God, to reach out with love to our members and the community and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
