Announcements   August 18 & 19, 2018

A: Seek God’s kingdom first C: for God knows all that we need
*Rejoice in God’s presence as we gather to worship today. A special welcome to all guests visiting with us. Your presence is a blessing.

*We will conclude our summer worship with a three-week series on Generosity and Stewardship. We’ll hear from Jesus’ teachings as recounted by Matthew, Mark and Luke. May we listen, hear and be moved by the words of our gracious, boundlessly giving Lord.

*There WILL be a Sorting Soiree this Monday at 10 am in the Gathering Room. Come lend a hand and enjoy some good fellowship.

*We’re getting close to having the pictures we need for our newest photo directory. If you would like us to use your picture from the last pictorial directory OR you want someone to take a new picture of you, please write that on your attendance form or contact the church secretary. If you have a photo on your phone or computer, please send it to the church office as soon as possible. Thank you.

*We are in need of people who will take a turn covering the nursery beginning in September. If we say we want young families in our church, a nursery during worship is a gift we must provide. The more who sign up, the fewer times each must serve over the year. Please give this ministry very serious consideration. Next week you can sign up on the attendance form.

*Since this is the third Sunday of the month, our Holly Place offering bucket is out. Each month we try to contribute $100 toward the care of the vulnerable adults at Holly Place. Thank you for your generosity.

*Congregational Council members are asked to pick up reports in their mailboxes for tomorrow’s meeting at Amy Mason’s home at 5:30 pm. Remember — 5;30 pm at Amy Masons and bring your Council reports and agenda! Thank you.

*Have you been wondering why we pray each week for one of the streets near Haven? We are remembering that those who live around our church are among the neighbors Jesus told us to love. We lift them in prayer as just one small way we can express our love.

This week’s concerns and joys:
*Ken Myers is home! The recovery from open heart surgery is slow but progressing. Please keep Ken, Sandy and his family in prayer

*Best wishes to Pastor Alessandri, Dallas Defriece, Johnny Britton III and Linda Clark who celebrate birthdays this week.

A: Rejoicing in God’s saving grace, we seek our Lord’s wisdom and strength:
C: “To honor God, to reach out with love to our members
and the community and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
