God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God
C: and God abides in them. (1 John 1:5))

*Rejoice in God’s presence as we gather to worship today. A special welcome to all guests visiting with us. Your presence is a blessing.

*Our Block Party and School Supply Giveaway is this Saturday from 10 am to 1 p.m. If you have taken a slip for school supplies or complete backpacks , please bring the items to church by tomorrow.
Start praying for dry weather and a lot of children and families to visit with us on Saturday. If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact Marge Cunningham. You could help cover for other volunteers who need a break or lunch. We could also use help to clean up at 1 p.m.
God’s Work. Our Hands.

*The Canoeing the Mountain study groups are beginning! A Wednesday group will begin this Wednesdays at 10 am in Haven West. The Thursdays group will have its second meeting on August 9th at 6:30 pm in the parlor. Study guides are available in the narthex and Pastor has one more copy of book for purchase. Please check your bulletin for the chapters to read before each meeting. Thank you for taking this adventure to see what Lewis and Clark can teach us about navigating our churches in these unexpected times.

*There will be a Sorting Soiree this Monday, August 6th. We are putting documents in protective sleeves for better access and storage. Thank you to everyone who has lent a hand on this project.

*Music at Red Heifer Winery on Sunday, August 5th. Starting at 4 pm, interested Haven members are gathering to enjoy appetizers, fellowship and music. See the bulletin for details.

This week’s concerns and joys:
*Ken Myers is still at Washington Hospital Center in DC after heart surgery. His recovery has been slower than anticipated but moving forward. Please keep Ken and his family in prayer

*Best wishes to Lesley Lightfoot-Newkirk, Eric Byers, Thelma Wolfe and Don Blickenstaff Sr, who celebrate birthdays this week.
