Blue Christmas Service of Comfort & Hope

Service of Comfort and Hope
Sunday, December 17th  5:00 p.m.

While many consider this season to be joyful and fun, there are others who find the holiday festivities to be difficult and painful. They may wish to be upbeat and involved, but the loss of sadness they are experiencing overshadows them. It may be financial or family difficulties or the absence of a spouse, child or hope that strains their spirits. It may be the loss of a loved one, a job, a marriage or one’s health that is weighing on their heart. Often their aching is further burdened with a sense of guilt or anger that they can’t seem to “get into the spirit”.

On Sunday, December 17th at 5:00pm Haven Lutheran Church wants to reach out to those saddened this season with a special Blue Christmas Services of Comfort and Hope.  Blue Christmas services speak to the hurts and emptiness of losses sensed even more keenly at a holiday. Blue Christmas services offer a meaningful time of comfort and inspiration, compassion and prayer. Blue Christmas services provide a safe and holy place to just be and know you are held deeply in the hearts of your brothers and sisters in Christ…and deeper yet, in the very heart of God.  If you are grieving a loss of any kind, please come find a time of peace at the Blue Christmas service. If you know someone who is struggling with sadness during the holidays, please invite him or her to the Blue Christmas worship and come with them. Let those who ache and those who love them come together and find comfort and peace in God’s presence.
