Announcements (in-person)

December 13, 2020

A: Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.
C:  Let it be with me according to your word, Lord.                            (Based on Luke 1: 28-38)

*Welcome to worship at Haven Lutheran Church. It is a delight to worship our Lord together as we Deck the Halls with hope this Third Sunday of Advent.

*We still have Christmas food baskets tags that need to be claimed. Contact one of our Hunger helpers — Pam O’Connor, Pat Pile or Kelly Bracken — to get a virtual food tag or pick one up in the narthex. All food needs to be at Haven no later than NEXT Sunday, December 20th. You can leave food on the parsonage back porch. We can do this, Haven! We’re good at helping our neighbors. Of course, monetary donations are also welcomed.

* Chairpersons of Haven Teams, your annual reports are due no later than January 10th.

*Please be sure to read and keep the December-January newsletter. There are copies in the narthex
*We hope you are planning to be on Haven’s parking lot NEXT Sunday, December 20th at 4:30 pm for our CAR-oling Party. Everyone can stay safely in their cars, tune in their radios and sing carols together. Let’s have some COVID-defying fun and celebrate a bit Christmas together.

*NOW LISTEN UP THOSE OF YOU WHO WILL BE WATCHING OUR LIVESTRAMED CHRISTMAS EVE WORSHIP SERVICE AT HOME. We will have Christmas Eve worship bags ready by NEXT SUNDAY. In each bag there will be a bulletin, votive light and holy communion that will be blessed during the in-person worship on December 20th. We ask those who would like to receive one of these Christmas Eve worship bags to please call or email the church THIS week and let us know how many people will be watching at your location. We will ask those of you who come to worship next Sunday to help us deliver them. Here and at home, we will celebrate Christmas Eve together.

This week’s concerns and joys:

*We are very sad to announce that our dear, dear Bob Dean died in his sleep on Thursday. Due to Covid restrictions, there will be a private graveside service for the immediate family on Tuesday. When we can all gather together, a celebration of Bob’s life will be planned — and what a celebration it will be! Keep Bob’s family and his Haven family in prayer.

*Please keep in prayer our folks recovering from COVID — June and Dick Hess, Eric, Stephanie, Piper and Tanner Meredith, Amy Mason, Danny Kiblinger and Irene Giffin

*Best wishes Lauren Huguenin, Michael Manspeaker, and Marge Cunningham who have birthdays this week. Congratulations to Amy & Mike Mason who have an anniversary on Friday.

                                                                 (after the announcements)

A:        Prepare the way of the Lord.            C:        Prepare our hearts for the Lord’s coming.
