Announcements ~ February 20, 2022
A:        The Light shines in the darkness, C:       and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:5)

*Whoever you are…Where ever you are…you are welcomed to worship this morning at Haven Lutheran Church.

*Last week, Haven selected the Cincinnati Bengals to win the Super Bowl. Well, we were almost right UNTIL the final minutes of the game. But the real winners in Hagerstown are Micah’s Backpack, Haven’s Blessing Box and St. Mark’s Food Bank who will benefit from the 57 cans of soup and $146.00 we collected last Sunday. Thank you for your contributions and joining in the fun to tackle hunger.

*Haven’s 2022 Annual Meeting is NEXT Sunday, February 27th, after worship. Please make every effort to attend in-person or on-line. We need at least 50 voting members in attendance to conduct business, including the election of new Council members. Information on how to attend via Zoom is in the bulletin and in January’s newsletter. We will also be sure to send out an e-mail with the ZOOM link this week. The Annual Report is available in the narthex, on the parsonage back porch and by delivery, if needed.

*Lent is coming soon. Pastor Alessandri will be offering a bible and book study at three different times. If you would like to participate, please let us know on your attendance sheet or by contacting the church office. The book, Return of the Prodigal Son, is available to purchase today in the narthex or by contacting the church office. Pastor Alessandri will be happy to answer any questions.

*Envelopes for Easter flower orders are in the narthex and the back porch of the parsonage. Or you can send your order to the church office using the information in the bulletin. The deadline for orders is March 6th. That’s only two weeks away!

*Thanks to those who have brought in food for Haven’s Blessing Box, our mini-neighborhood food pantry.
*The church office will be closed tomorrow for the Presidents Day holiday.

This week’s concerns and joys:

*Pam O’Connor is at Sunrise Senior Living in Frederick for physical therapy. The address is on the mobile message board. Darlyne Blickenstaff is at Williamsport Rehab Center recovering from a broken wrist. Please keep them both in prayers. Cards and notes of encouragement are appreciated.

Best wishes to Abigail Andrews, Rebecca Mason, and Kathy Pensis who have birthdays this week. Congratulations to Patty and Eric Byers who have a wedding anniversary on Thursday.

(after the announcements)

A:        We now prepare ourselves for worship as we listen to the prelude.
