Announcements ~ February 6, 2022

A:      The Light shines in the darkness,

C:      and the darkness has not overcome it.   (John 1:5)

*Welcome to worship at Haven Lutheran Church during this Epiphany season. We offer a special welcome to our guests here at church and those who are with us on-line. It is a blessing to gather together in God’s presence.

*Today our Praise Team who will provide the music leadership for worship. We welcome them back and welcome its newest member, Chris Kline on the drums. Thank you for helping us to lift our voices in praise each first Sunday of the month.

*Next Sunday is the SOUPER BOWL. That’s spelled S-0-U-P-E-R. We will collect cans of soup and dollars for the hungry. Each can of soup or dollar is vote for the team you think will win the other Super Bowl football match up. Can we successfully predict the winner? Let’s have some fun AND help our hungry neighbors.

*Believe it or not, it’s time to order Easter flowers – lilies, yellow tulips or white or pink hyacinths. Order envelopes are in the narthex and the back porch of the parsonage. Or you can send you order to the church office using the information in the bulletin.

*Haven’s Blessing Box is like a mini-food pantry. It is being visited frequently. You can help feed our hungry neighbors by donating needed food items. A list of suggested items can be found in your bulletin, in the narthex and in the newsletter. When you shop, pick up an item or two and bring it to church. A box for donations is in the church narthex. God’s Work. Our Hands.

This week’s concerns and joys:

*Best wishes to Melita Kaplan, Aaron Richards, and Robert Snyder who have birthdays this week.

A:      Arise, shine; for your light has come,
C:      And the glory of the LORD has risen upon us.    (Isaiah 60:1)
