A: Arise, shine; for your light has come,

C: And the glory of the LORD has risen upon us. (Isaiah 60:1)

God’s peace to all this Epiphany Season. A special welcome to all guests visiting with us today. Your presence is truly a blessing.

*Thank you Pastor Layman for preaching and presiding at worship today while Pastor Alessandri recovers from surgery. We are truly grateful you are here to share God’s Word and Meal.

*Haven will be providing lunch for at Potomac Towers THIS THURSDAY, January 30th. This is usually the main meal of the day for some 35 residents. If you have not already, please check the sign-up sheet on the SIGN-UP CENTRAL bulletin board to see what foods or help is still needed. We need you help to provide a good lunch for some of our Hagerstown brothers and sisters.

*The first gathering of “Haven After Hours” will be Friday Feb. 7, 6:30 pm at the home of Susie & Dave Resh.  It is an opportunity to enjoy an evening of fellowship with members and friends of Haven. You will enjoy good food, conversation and fun. Sign-up to come at SIGN-UP CENTRAL and indicate if you will bring either an appetizer or a dessert to share.

*Today, Cindy Rhodes will be leading our youngster Sunday School class into more of the life of Jesus. Pastor Kaplan and guests will lead the Adult Sunday School into a discussion of the barriers that may keep others from coming or joining church communities. Your insights will be appreciated!

*Please sign-up to bring soup or sandwiches for one of our Wednesday Lenten meals on the attendance sheet.

*This coming Sunday, February 2 is Souper Bowl Sunday. Please put your soup under the Kansas City Chiefs or San Francisco 49ers signs in the narthex. All Soup will go to St. Mark’s Food Pantry.

This week’s concerns and joys

*Please keep Sandy & Ken Meyers and family in prayer.

*Pastor Alessandri’s surgery went well and she is home recovering with her sister’s company. Though she can’t drive for several weeks, Pastor hopes to be back in the office, as least part-time, later this week. Please keep her in prayer.

*Best wishes to Kathy Pensis, Donna Hovermill, Jim Hassinger and Kristin Andrews who celebrate birthdays this week.
