Announcements ~ July 11, 2021

A:     O Lord, You are righteous in all your ways and loving in all your works.
C:  You are near to all who call upon you.                              (Psalm 145:17-18a)

*God’s blessings to all and a special welcome to guests visiting with us today. What a blessing it is to be together in God’s presence to worship.

*Today after worship, you are invited to the first of several Adult Sunday School sessions entitled, “THRIVING BEYOND COVID: LET GOD, TRUST GOD, RISE UP,” led by Pastor Alessandri. Follow the signs down to the air-conditioned gathering room for some faith-filled learning and discussion. Yes, of course there are refreshments!

*Attention Haven cookie bakers! We will provide an assortment of your favorite cookies for the luncheon following Bill Plavcan’s memorial service this Saturday. We also need several more ushers at the service. See more details in the bulletin and thank you.

*Next Sunday we will be celebrating our graduates during worship and in a coffee fellowship after worship. Not all the graduates can make it but that won’t stop us from praying for them and expressing our pride and joy in their achievements.

*Even through COVID, Haven has continued to provided lunches for residents of Potomac Towers here in Hagerstown during months that have a fifth Thursday. Our next date is Thursday, July 29th.  Because of lingering Covid-19 restrictions, we are asked to provide “Grab-and-Go” bagged luncheons for 40 residents.  If you would like to contribute to this month’s meal, a sign-up sheet listing items and amounts needed is posted on the mobile bulletin board in the narthex. If you watching worship at home and want to contribute, call the church office on Monday to sign up for one of the remaining items. All items will need to be in the church kitchen by 10:00am Thursday, July 29. God’s work. Our hands!

*Check out the Harvest for Hunger table in the church lobby. Haven gardeners and bakers have brought some of their bounty to church. We are asked to take some of the goodies and leave a freewill offering to support several hunger-fighting efforts. Thanks for your support as we battle against hunger.

*We want to thank our small COVID-crew of ushers who have been so faithful. And now it’s time for more folks to join that Sunday morning ministry. Please check off on the attendance form if you would usher once a month. It’s such an easy way to support our worship life.
This week’s concerns and joys:

*This week we met a milestone in our Faith Building Together debt retirement campaign. We now have OVER one half of our loan paid for! As you bless Haven with your generosity, Haven is even more readied to bless the community.

*Best wishes to Jackie Webb who celebrates a birthday this week. Congratulations to Susie and Dave Resh who celebrate their wedding anniversary this Wednesday.

 (after the prelude)

A:      Rejoicing in God’s saving grace, we seek our Lord’s wisdom and strength:
C:      “To honor God, to reach out with love to our members and the community and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
