Announcements ~ July 18, 2021

A:        O Lord, You are righteous in all your ways and loving in all your works.
C:  You are near to all who call upon you.                              (Psalm 145:17-18a)

*God’s blessings to all and a special welcome to our graduates, their families and guests visiting with us today. What a blessing it is to be together in God’s presence to worship.

*Today after worship, you are invited across the lobby to a reception in honor of our graduates. We hope you will stay to add your congratulations.

*What a great response we had to our request for food for our next “grab and go” lunch at Potomac Towers this month. There are only two items still needed! Check the list on the mobile message board if you would like to donate some of the needed “crustable” sandwiches. Thanks to all who signed up for the other needed foods. All items need to be in the church kitchen by 10:00am Thursday, July 29.

*It’s that time of year when we gather school supplies for our neighborhood schools. There are tags on a bulletin board in the narthex with items that are needed this year. Take a tag or two and bring the supplies back to Haven or the parsonage porch no later than August 8th. Monetary donations are always welcome, too. More information is in today’s bulletin. God’s work. Our hands!

*Check out the Harvest for Hunger table in the church lobby. Take some of the goodies and leave a freewill offering to benefit several hunger-fighting efforts. Thanks for your support as we battle against hunger.

*Have you signed up to help with ushering?

*Today’s flowers are given in memory of Bill Plavcan by Becky and her family. It would give Becky great joy if everyone took some flowers from the large arrangement in front of the altar and think good thoughts of Bill.

This week’s concerns and joys:

*Many thanks to those who helped with yesterday’s memorial service for Bill Plavcan and to those who baked cookies for the luncheon afterwards. Becky and the family appreciated it all.

*Best wishes to June Hell, Grant Wills, Irene Giffin, Veronica Bergschneider and Mary Fortson who celebrate a birthday this week.

 (after the prelude)

A:      Rejoicing in God’s saving grace, we seek our Lord’s wisdom and strength:
C:      “To honor God, to reach out with love to our members and the community and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
