July 22, 2018 Sermon – Honest to God

C: That God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5))

*Rejoice in God’s presence as we gather to worship this afternoon/morning. A special welcome to all guests visiting with us. Your presence is a blessing.

*Be sure to read the announcements in your bulletin. You want to know about the Sorting Soiree on Monday, Woman’s Bible Study on Thursday, Wine and Music coming up at Red heifer Winery and an invitation to a special book study and discussion.

*Our Block Party and School Supply Giveaway is coming! We’ll invite children and families to join us on August 11th for some free fun and the chance to get some of their needed school supplies.
Please look on the Block Party bulletin board in the narthex to see what items are needed this year. There are slips for individual supplies. There are also slips to gather a complete set of supplies for a student in a particular grade. We use these for door prizes. The back-to-school sales are on! Please contribute what you can to help our Hagerstown children be ready for a successful school year.

*Marge Cunningham is lining up our volunteers for Haven’s Block Party on Saturday, August 11th. If you have not already volunteered and would like to help, please sign up on the mobile bulletin board and indicate when you are available to help. Please consider be here on August 11th to be a part of a delightful day of community outreach. Here’s a chance to reach out with love to our community..

This week’s concerns and joys:
*Good news! Danny Kiblinger will be moving into an apartment at the end of this month and his employment at Lowe’s has been made permanent. Please continue to keep Danny in prayer and extend you best wishes to him.

*This week some Haven members will be attending the Theological Education for Adults week at Gettysburg Seminary. Please pray that Nancy Newkirk, Valerie Wills and Elaine Michaels will in have a week rich and meaningful learning, worship and fellowship.

*Best wishes to Veronica Bergschneider, Mary Forston, Austin Suchy, and Georgetta Kauffman who celebrate birthdays this week.
