Announcements ~ July 25, 2021

A:      O Lord, You are righteous in all your ways and loving in all your works.
C:  You are near to all who call upon you.                              (Psalm 145:17-18a)

*God’s blessings to all and a special welcome to and guests visiting with us today. What a blessing it is to be together in God’s presence to worship.

*Did you notice? Did you oohh and ahh? Yes, the steeple made it back to the roof on Wednesday. Next Sunday, August 1, we will rededicate our church and bless the new roof, steeple and AC during an INDOOR worship service. A coffee fellowship will follow. Please invite Haven friends and alumni to attend. Let’s celebrate!

*Today after worship, Pastor Alessandri will lead an Adult Sunday School session in the Gathering Room. Come join the discussion on “Thriving After Covid.” Coffee and goodies, too, while we enjoy fellowship and God’s Word.

*Thanks to all who are contributing needed foods for this month’s lunch at Potomac Towers. All items need to be in the church kitchen by 10:00 am this Thursday, July 29. Our brothers and sisters at Potomac Towers will enjoy a great lunch this Friday thanks to you.

*We are gathering school supplies for our neighborhood schools. There are tags on a bulletin board in the narthex with items that are needed this year. Take a tag or two and bring the supplies back to Haven or the parsonage porch no later than August 8th. Monetary donations are always welcome, too. More information is in today’s bulletin. God’s work. Our hands!

*Check out the Harvest for Hunger table in the church lobby.

*Thanks to those who have signed up to help with ushering. With a few more volunteers, everyone will only need to help one Sunday a month. It’s easy and it’s a blessing to our worshipping community. Sign up today to help with ushering?

This week’s concerns and joys:

*Many thanks to those who came to the weeding party on Saturday. We are trying to have the garden beds around the church in good shape for our rededication celebration next Sunday. There’s still time to lend a hand whenever it fits into your schedule this week. It’s not a glamorous job but much appreciated.

*Marge Cunningham reports that her daughter, Amanda, is home from the hospital and recovering. Marge will stay there this week to help. Keep them all in prayer.

*Best wishes to Austin Suchy, Georgi Kauffman, Adam Tice, Korben Defriece, and Pat Manspeaker who celebrate birthdays this week.

 (after the prelude)

A:      Rejoicing in God’s saving grace, we seek our Lord’s wisdom and strength:
C:      “To honor God, to reach out with love to our members and the community and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
