July 8, 2018 Sermon – Final Commandments Sermon

Announcements – July 8, 2018

A: I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
C: I will sing praise to my God while I have being. (Psalm 104: 33)

*Blessings to all this morning and welcome to all guests visiting with us today, We are blessed by your presence and hope you are blessed as we worship together.

*A special welcome to the youth and adults from Atonement Lutheran Church in Florissant Missouri. We are happy we could provide some hospitality for you after your long drive yesterday. We hear you have to leave fairly quickly after worship, but we hope to get the chance to greet you and wish you the very best in your learning and serving this coming week in Washington DC.

There are two July projects starting this week:
*Tomorrow, between 10 am and 12 noon, we begin a weekly sorting Soiree to purge our closets of boxes of unknown papers and to gather important documents and historical mementoes. Most work can be done seated at a table in the Gathering Room. All hands — and their owners — are welcome.

*On Wednesday at 10 am , you are invited to join Pastor Alessandri to look at the schedule of Sunday scripture readings for this fall. Which readings should we use? How do we decide? Those with an interest in worship and Bible study are more than equipped to help. Hope to see you on Wednesday in Haven West.

You can read more about the sorting soiree and the Lectionary Exploration in the July/August newsletter.

*There is an error in the bulletin. Parish Life will NOT meet on Monday. They are taking a much deserved month off.

This week’s concerns and joys:
*Pat Pile is home from the hospital! Please keep Pat and family in prayer.

*Thank you to all who loaned air mattresses, those who helped to inflate them, contributed food and helped serve meals to our St. Louis guests. What an honor to be God’s Hands.

*Best wishes to Robert Webb, Charlotte Loveless, and Jackie Webb. who celebrate birthdays this week. Congratulations to Eric & Stephanie Meredith and Dave and Sue Resh who celebrate wedding anniversaries.

A: Rejoicing in God’s saving grace, we seek our Lord’s wisdom and strength:
C: “To honor God, to reach out with love to our members
and the community and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
