June 20, 2021 Sermon (pdf)

Announcements ~ June 20, 2021

A:      It is a good thing to give thanks to the Lord,
C:  to sing praise to your name, O Most High;                               (Psalm 92:1)

*God’s blessings to all and a special welcome to new and returning guests. What an honor and delight to worship our Lord together.

*Happy Father’s Day! We have a gift for each of our Dads and all of our young men and boys as you leave today. Blessings on all of you as you share the love of God, the father of us all.

*The installation of our church steeple is still being anticipated the last week of June. As soon as we have a definite date, we will email it and post it on our website. If the weather cooperates, let’s have a Steeple Place party on the parking lot and watch the steeple be restored.

*This Saturday Haven is sponsoring our first Weeding Party from 9 am to Noon. Bring your gardening gloves and sun screen and come for an hour or more to help free our garden beds of weeds. Any amount of time you can offer will be appreciated. We hope to make this a monthly event to keep the weeds at bay. Of course, we will not argue with you if you rather come a different time to do some weeding.

This week’s concerns and joys:

*Please keep in prayer: Beth Johns, recovering from a fall at Sterling Care, South Mountain; Jim Conrad, recovering from a broken leg at Cadia Healthcare; Nancy Newkirk, home after hospitalization on her birthday weekend; and Kathy Amos as she cares for her partner, Marvin, who has started radiation for cancer. Cards of encouragement are also appreciated. Addresses for Sterling Care and Cadia are on bright green sheets you can find in the narthex.

*Best wishes to Max Schupp and Joe Webb who celebrate birthdays this week. Congratulations to Dawn and Ken Tice and Jane and Gentry Muse who have wedding anniversaries this week.

 (after the announcement)

A:      Rejoicing in God’s saving grace, we seek our Lord’s wisdom and strength:
C:      “To honor God, to reach out with love to our members
and the community and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
