June 23, 2019 – Sermon & Announcements

June 22, 2019 Sermon – Demons or Freedom – Which Is Scarier?

June 23, 2019

A: I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
C: I will sing praise to my God while I have being.                                  (Psalm 104: 33)

*God’s blessings to all as we gather to worship and a special welcome Pastor Hoda, our brothers and sisters from St. Johns Lutheran and to all guests visiting with us today. What a joy it is to be in God’s presence and lift our voices together in praise of our awesome God.

*Today’s flowers and coffee fellowship are in honor of St. John Lutheran church. We hope you will stay after worship to enjoy refreshment and fellowship across the narthex in our parlor. We are so very excited to have you here!

*Our first organizing meeting for this year’s Block Party and School Supply Giveaway will be this Thursday, June 27th at 6:30 pm in the air-conditioned Gathering Room. We will try to keep it as brief and productive as possible. Please come and take part. It is a great deal of holy fun when we work together.

*Next Sunday, June 30th, after worship, Pastor Alessandri will continue to share pictures, stories and learnings from her January trip to Israel in the Adult Sunday School room. We will have some coffee brewing and fans to cool us. All are welcome.

*Haven members, please check your calendars and visit the SIGN-UP CENTRAL bulletin board to sign up to usher one or more Sunday’s this summer. Any empty slots will be filled by the administrative assistant and published in the July/August newsletter. Ushering is a simple way to support our worship life this summer.

This week’s concerns and joys:

*We are sad to announce the death of Heather, Harold Rice’s daughter. Please keep Harold and his family in your prayers.

*Pam O’Connor is back at her home! Cards, calls and visits are greatly appreciated.

*Best wishes to Joe Webb, Sharon Sellers and Patty Byers who celebrate birthdays this week.

A: Rejoicing in God’s saving grace, we seek our Lord’s wisdom and strength:

C: “To honor God, to reach out with love to our members and the community and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ” because God matters. Relationships matter. You matter.
A: Amen.
