Announcements ~ May 2, 2021

A:      This is the day the Lord has made.

C:      Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

*A most blessed and happy Easter season to all. A special welcome to guests who are worshipping at Haven for the first time and those who have returned. Your presence enriches us and our time of celebration together

*TODAY there will be a meeting after worship to begin planning for September’s Adult Sunday School. Follow the signs down the hall by the church office to find the meeting. We will be wearing masks and honoring social distancing. After the meeting, all are invited to go to Tony’s on Pennsylvania Avenue for lunch, Dutch treat. More details are in the bulletin. All are welcome.

*It’s time to order red geraniums for Pentecost Sunday. The cost is $4 each. The deadline for orders is next Sunday, May 9. Information is in the bulletin and envelopes are available in the narthex and parsonage back porch.

*IF you need a ride to get your COVID vaccination, Pastor Kaplan is offering transport. His phone number is in today’s bulletin. Thank you Pastor Dave for the generous offer.

*Copies of May newsletters and Faith Building Together giving cards and envelopes are available in the church lobby and the parsonage back porch.

*On Pentecost Sunday, May 23rd, we will have a special drive through celebration for our God Squad Explorers — the children of Haven who have been doing Sunday School lessons in their homes all during this COVID years. At 10:45 am, parents will drive their children through our parking lots to pick up treats and a certificate. We ask all you are able to come outside after worship that day to wave at our faithful Sunday School Explorers.

*If you know of any Haven teens or young adults who are graduating from high school, college or grad school, please email or call the church office. We hope to celebrate our grads in June.

This week’s concerns and joys:

*Best wishes to Tatiana Defriece, Piper Meredith, Simon Lightfoot, and Tanya Richards who celebrate birthdays this week.
