May 27, 2018 Sermon – 10 Commandments

Announcements ~ May 27, 2018
A: This is the day the Lord has made, C: let us rejoice and be glad in it!
*Blessings to all this Trinity Sunday. A special welcome also to all guests visiting with us today. We hope you are blessed as we worship and fellowship together.

*Today, our Sunday School will celebrate another completed year of learning and growing in faith in the Gathering Room starting at 11 am. All are welcome.

*Next week we begin our summer schedule of worship. Each Saturday there is a spoken service with holy communion at 5 p.m. If you will be busy on Sunday, you can come Saturday at 5 p.m. On Sunday we will worship in the sanctuary at 9:30 am. Come casually dressed and ready to offer the Lord our praise and prayers.

*All hands on deck! Vacation Bible School is returning to Haven June 25th to 29th!! It is only a month away. Check in today’s bulletin, in this month’s newsletter and on the VBS bulletin board to see how you can help with this gospel outreach.

*Speaking of VBS, we hoped to get sponsorship for 40 campers. And guess what? As of last Sunday we had 50!!!! Thanks to those who have sponsored campers.

* Do you know a Haven member who is graduating from high school or college this year? Please share that information on your attendance form.

*The weeks of rain has stopped and there are still five of Haven garden plots to keep weed free this summer! Individuals, a couple, friends, or a family could do it together. You choose your own days and times to do the needed weeding. Sign up at the SIGN-UP CENTRAL bulletin board. Thank you.

*The venture to the Totem Pole Playhouse production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” on June 3rd has been CANCELLED. We didn’t get the 30 needed and the seats still available were not very good. We hope we’ll get another opportunity to go to the theater together in the future.

*The June newsletter is available in the lobby today. A reminder to teams and other groups that the next newsletter will be a combined one for July AND August. Be sure to send the church secretary information about anything you’d like to publicize for July AND August by the June 15th deadline.

*The church office will be closed on Monday for Memorial Day.

This week’s concerns and joys:
*Last week pastor messed up — She included those who had baptismal anniversaries rather than birthdays. So first, lets congratulate Ed Yelinik, Millie Strange, and Madison Haupt who had birthdays last week. Best wishes to Katie Muse, Lynda Byers, and Scott Rhodes who celebrate birthdays this week.
