Announcements ~ October 3, 2021

A: Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
C: Let us come into God’s presence with thanksgiving.           (Psalm 95: 1b-2a)

*God’s blessing to all and a special welcome to our guests. What a delight it is to be together in God’s presence to worship.

*Our God Squad Explorer kick-off event is today. Children and parents are invited to follow the signs to God Squad Headquarters after worship for faith-filled fun, games, music and food.

*Today’s Adult Sunday School class is led by Jamie and Jim Cannon. The topic will be prayer. Please note that the Adult Sunday School class is meeting in the Adult Sunday School room NOT the Gathering Room. Veteran Haven members — be sure to help those new at Haven to find their way. There are also signs to help, too.

*Do you have a pet you treasure? Bring them to the Pet Blessing today, between 2 and 3 pm.

Each pet gets their picture taken, a blessing and a chance to win a prize. Even if you don’t have a pet, come hang out and meet some wonderful pet owners and neighbors.

*Wednesday Bible Study is back! Come adventure into the Act of the Apostles from 10 to 11 am. Good conversation, questions, wonders and laughter. All are welcome.

*The October newsletter is available on-line and in the church narthex. Be sure to read through it to see all the opportunities for faith enrichment, fun and service.

*Plan on coming to Haven at 9 am on October 17th to hear the Hagerstown Sunday School Orchestra before worship. We have been selected as one of the churches that the orchestra will visit once a month. Come hear some great seasonal music by very talented musicians. It will be well worth the getting here a half-hour early.

*Pastor Alessandri will be out of the office Monday through Wednesday. If you are in need of pastoral care, please call Pastor David Eisenhuth at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hagerstown. His phone number is in your bulletin. Pastor Alessandri will be back in the office by noon on Thursday.

This week’s concerns and joys:

*Haven member, JoAnn Shankle is in Meritus Hospital being treated for congestive heart failure. Please keep JoAnn and her family in prayer.

*Thanks to all who helped with the luncheon after Dolores Carson’s funeral. The family was very appreciative.
*The residents at Potomac Towers were also appreciative of the lunches we provide last Thursday. this Thursday. God’s Work. Our Hands.

*Best wishes to Don Andrews, Dawn Tice and Aura Harbaugh-Wiles who have birthdays this week. Congratulations to Joan and Ed Schupp who celebrate a wedding anniversaries this Wednesday.
