Announcements ~ October 31, 2021

A: Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
C: Let us come into God’s presence with thanksgiving.       (Psalm 95: 1b-2a)
*God’s blessing to all this Reformation Sunday with a special welcome to our guests. What a delight it is to be together in God’s ever-reforming presence.

*The Adult Sunday School series, “Lutheranism 101” concludes today. We will take a look at the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion, Haven’s history and art and finally remaining questions. We’ll offer a tour of Haven to anyone who has not had one. The class will meet in the Adult Sunday School Room. Follow the signs to the room.

*Next Sunday is All Saints Sunday. We will include the reading of the name of those Haven members, family and friends who have died since November 1st, 2019. If you have a love one who died between November 1st 2019 and today, please print their name on your attendance form.

*The cross that once stood in front of Haven’s western entrance needed to be removed because of damage. Thankfully, Adam Tice chose to put up its replacement as his Eagle Scout project. WE are glad to announce that the wood from that original cross was repurposed into Advent logs. You can see them displayed in the narthex.

We only have 19 — so to try to distribute them fairly and impartially, we will begin selling raffle tickets for the logs next week: $2 for one ticket and $10 for 6 tickets. ALL proceeds will go to the Building Faith Together debt reduction fund. To allow as many households to win one, there will be only one winner per household, no matter how many tickets you purchase or are drawn.
You can buy tickets after worship OR by contacting the church office by email or phone. A bit fun while enjoying some Haven history and supporting Haven’s future. More information in the November newsletter.

*By the way — those November newsletters are available on-line and in the narthex today.

*Members of the Music and Worship Team are reminded that they will meet TOMORROW night, November 1st.

This week’s concerns and joys

*We are sad to report the death of John Dickinson, Jr. He is the son of Jack Dickinson. Please keep Jack and family in prayer.

*Best wishes to Diana Barnhart, Meredith Reynolds and Eric Meredith who have birthdays this week.

A:        God IS here with us. Let us prepare ourselves for worship as we listen to the prelude.
