A:        Hallelujah! Give praise, you servants of the Lord;  praise the name of the Lord.

C:       Let the name of the Lord be blessed, from this time forth forevermore.

WELCOME to Haven’s outdoor worship at Doub’s Woods! A special welcome to guests visiting with us, in person or on-line. How wonderful to worship together.

*If you did not already sign up to have your picture taken OR re-taken for the church directory next Sunday after worship, please email or telephone the church office this week so appropriate plans can be made. For those worshipping at home, we will be working out a way to get your picture, too.

*Last Friday, Haven delivered our first Micah’s Backpacks to 8 students at Fountaindale Elementary School.  We expect to deliver 12 backpacks most weeks.  There will be sign-up sheets in the Narthex of the church for people to sign up to help either to pack or to deliver. Neither packing nor delivering takes much time, but it will mean 12 children have meals over the weekend. Be sure to look for that sign-up sheet next week.

* Speaking of signing up —- No one has signed up for coffee fellowship next week and only two other upcoming Sundays have hosts. Please consider hosting one Sunday this fall. You can keep it simple and do it with another member or family. The time to share fellowship is a real gift to your church community.

*We are happy to report that Haven’s administrative Assistant, Mary Grabill, is well enough after bout with COVID to return to the office this Monday! Hurrah! The church office will return to our pre-pandemic schedule — 9 am to 1 pm, Monday to Friday.

This week’s concerns and joys:

*With sadness we share the news that Haven member, Beth Johns, died last Tuesday. A memorial service for Beth at a later date. Keep her family in prayer.

*Many thanks to all who attended last Sunday’s Special Congregational Meeting. The motion to replace the gutters on the original building was passed.

*Thanks to the small but mighty team that represented Haven in the United Way’s Day of Caring last Thursday. Habitat office and Restore rooms were painted with love, good conversation and laughter.

*We want to thank Joanne and Will Seilhamer, members & helpers of the Parish Life and Worship Teams and Robin and Mike Schaffer for all their efforts in making today’s picnic possible. Thank you for helping us to again be able to enjoy a picnic together after missing it during the pandemic. What a delight to be able to be together like this again!

*Best wishes to Michael Freeman and Abigail Byers who have birthdays this week. A belated congratulations to Dick and June Hess who had a wedding anniversary last Monday.
A:        From the rising of the sun to its going down.
C:       let the name of the Lord be praised.                                         (Ps. 113: 1-3)
