April 5, 2021 Sermon – Easter Sunday

Announcements April 4, 2021

A:      This is the day the Lord has made.

C:      Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

*A most blessed and happy Easter season to all. A special welcome to guests who are worshipping at Haven for the first time and those who have returned. Your presence enriches us and our time of celebration together.

*The celebration of our Risen Lord continues after worship as we share the fun of an Easter Egg Hunt. We ask children to please stay with parents in the church or the lobby until we call them for the Hunt.

*Those who sponsored lilies, tulips and hyacinths to decorate our sanctuary for Easter may pick up their flowers after worship today. If you have forgotten what you ordered, there is a list on the mobile message board. Thank you for bringing such beauty to our Easter worship.

*April’s newsletter and devotional booklet are available today in the church lobby today.

*Please remember that next Sunday, April 11th, Haven will not have an in-person or livestreamed worship service. We all are invited to attend worship with our Delaware and Maryland Synod brothers and sisters on line. You will find the needed links in your bulletin and on Haven’s webpage.

* Pastor Alessandri will be leaving this afternoon to visit with her sister and family in Atlanta Georgia. She will be back in the office on April 14th. While she is away, please call Pastor Allen Reed for pastoral care during an illness or other emergency. Keep you bulletin so you have Pastor Reed’s phone number. Keep Pastor Alessandri in your prayers, that she has safe travels and a refreshing time away.

*By the way, did we mention that we have hundreds for today’s Easter Egg Hunt?

This week’s concerns and joys:

*Best wishes to Phyllis Meyers, Sari Kilheffer, Tanner Meredith, Clare Newcomer, and Jon Schupp who celebrate birthdays this week. Congratulations to Kim and Kevin Pile and Prue and Ed Yelinek who have wedding anniversaries tomorrow.

                                           (after the announcements)

A: We now prepare for worship as we listen to the prelude.
