L:   Holy is the Lord God Almighty!  C:    Who was, and is, and is to come.   (based on Rev. 4: 8)

L:   God is worthy to receive glory and honor and power,

C:  For by God’s will all things exist and were created.    (based on Rev. 4: 11)

*Welcome to worship and a special welcome to guests visiting with us today. We pray you are blessed as we worship together.

*It’s time for BUNKO, TODAY at 2 p.m. You do NOT have to know how to play — In fact, most who signed up do not. But Cathy Yaraghi will teach and lead us.  So get out of the heat and have some fun. It’s best to have at least 12 players! Men and women are invited. Your friends and neighbors, too! Sign up today on the mobile message board.

* Haven’s Third Annual Block Party and School Supply Giveaway is NEXT Saturday, August 19th. Be a part of this effort to “reach out with love to our community.” Here’s is what is currently needed:

  • Even if just for an hour. There are a variety of places inside and outside between 10 am and 1 p.m. All will allow you to interact with our neighborhood children and families. Sign up on the Volunteer Sheet in the narthex TODAY!
    • Do you have a long, folding table we could borrow? It looks like we may need a few more than we have. Bring it in any times between 9 am and 1 pm this week.
  • Get into those closets and basements, Haven! —We’re still in need of new and unused items for Bingo Prizes. You get to clear out some well-meaning but unneeded gifts and we will use them for prizes. Definitely a win/win!
  • And last but not least, please pray for Haven’s Block Party and School Supply Giveaway. Pray that we have all we need. Pray our neighbors come and have a blest time. And pray for good weather and spirits. God’s Work. Our Hands.

Stay after worship this morning for refreshments as the Block Party Team lifts up our thanks for all your support and shares our excitement about this great outreach event.

* The Congregational Council approved the Search Team’s recommendation to offer Steve Pastena the position of organist/choir and chimes director. He will officially start Sept. 3rd. More about Steve in the upcoming newsletter.

*As it says in your bulletin, how do we ever thank Bruce Larson for graciously being our interim organist for two years. He has not only shared music but his love of the Lord and joyful spirit. On August 27 we will honor Bruce during a special coffee fellowship. Come add your own words of thanks.

This week’s concerns and joys:

*Best wishes to Craig Meredith, Dave Resh, and Sherrie Cameron who celebrate birthdays this week.
