Announcements – March 24, 2019

A:       Teach me your way, O Lord, C:      that I may walk in your truth.

Good morning, Church! God’s blessings to all this Third Sunday of Lent and a special welcome to any guests visiting with us today. We pray you blessed as we worship together.

*This Wednesday we continue our Lenten midweek suppers and worship. Soup and sandwiches at 6 pm. Worship at 7 p.m. This year our theme is “Behold the Tree — Behold the Cross” Pastor Alessandri will continue the series with a message about a Sycamore Tree and Zacchaeus. Come for supper or for worship or both as part of your Lenten adventure.

*The collection for our Easter Food Baskets is well on its way. We work to provide Easter food baskets for the families of the children who receive our weekend Micah’s backpacks. Join the effort! Take a tag or two from the giving tree in the church lobby, pick up the items and bring them back to Haven. Thank you for your participation.

*Would you or your neighbor or friend like a little plot of good soil to grow just a few vegetables? We’ve got a place you can use here at Haven. We’ll get it tilled. You plant and maintain your plot. If you are interested, sign up on the attendance form. The deadline is April 14th.

*There is one more chance to see Haven’s own Aura Harbaugh in “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” at Smithsburg High school this afternoon at 2:30 pm. It’s a musical for all ages. Tickets are $8. Proceeds benefit the Smithsburg High School Drama Club. You can buy tickets at the door.

This week’s concerns and joys:

*Pam O’Connor is currently at Coffman Rehab and Nursing Home for physical therapy. She is in room 409. She would greatly appreciate hearing from you! Sharon Hartsock also continues physical therapy at Homewood Nursing Center. Please keep Sharon and Pam in prayer.

*Best wishes to Ken Tice, Alan Butsch, Charlie Huguenin and John Britton Jr.  who celebrate birthdays this week.

A: We now we prepare for worship as we listen to the prelude.
