Announcements – March 31, 2019

A: Teach me your way, O Lord, C: that I may walk in your truth.
Good morning, Church! God’s blessings to all this Fourth Sunday of Lent and a special welcome to any guests visiting with us today. We pray you blessed as we worship together.

*This Wednesday we continue our Lenten midweek suppers and worship. Soup and sandwiches at 6 pm. Worship at 7 p.m. Come rest in God’s Word and fellowship.

*Thank you to all who have contributed food to our Easter Food Baskets. There are still some items needed and only two weeks until our April 14th deadline. Please take a tag or two from the giving tree in the church lobby, pick up the items and bring them back to Haven. Also, you can sign-up on the attendance form to help put the basket together on April 17th. Thank you, again.

*The April newsletter is available in the church lobby. There is A LOT going on this coming month. You don’t want to miss opportunities for service OR fun.

*Our property is due to be spruced up for the Spring and Easter. PLEASE come to help the mornings of April 6th or 13th. There will be a variety of tasks indoors and outdoors. Read more in the bulletin and newsletter. We need MANY willing hands who will give glory to God as they maintain the gift of Haven’s property.

*It’s time to gather goodies to fill the eggs for our annual hunt on Easter Sunday. We have several hundred eggs that need to be filled! Please put donations in the box in the lobby.

*April 14th is the deadline for signing up for a portion of Haven’s vegetable garden. We’ll get it tilled. You plant and maintain your plot. If you, a friend or a neighbor are interested, sign up on the attendance form.

*On Easter Sunday, there will be a potluck supper here at Haven at 5:30 pm. If you have no nearby family and would like to come, please sign-up on the attendance form or at Sign-Up Central. More information is in today’s bulletin.

*In your bulletin. you will find a copy of an article from the Christian Century about making apologies. Our own Bishop Gohl was brave and humble enough to allow his own experience be used. Read it this week and meditate on the power of admitting wrong and asking forgiveness.

This week’s concerns and joys:
*It is with great sadness that we announce that Pastor Phil Fogarty died in Christ Thursday evening. He was Haven’s pastor from 1968 to 1975. No funeral arrangements have been announced. Please keep the family and friends of Pastor Fogarty and all who grieve his loss in your prayers.

*Pam O’Connor is still at Coffman Rehab and Nursing Home for physical therapy. Terry Trovinger is at Waynesboro Hospital this week getting antibiotics for an infection he had after eye surgery. Sharon Hartsock came home from Homewood yesterday.
Please keep Terry, Sharon and Pam in prayer.

*Best wishes to Bill Clark, Donna Dickinson, Phyllis Myers, Sari Kilheffer, and Joyce Meredith who celebrate birthdays this week. Congratulations to Kim and Kevin Pile who have a wedding anniversary on the fifth.
