Announcements ~ October 2, 2022

A: I lift up my eyes  to the hills; from where is my help to come?
C: My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. (Ps. 121: 1-2)

God’s blessings and peace to you this day. A special welcome to guests visiting with us, in
person or on-line. How wonderful it is to worship together.

* There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex of the church for volunteers to help either pack or
deliver Micah’s backpacks to Fountaindale Elementary School. Speak to Linda Clark if you
have any questions. Your help will mean 12 children have food over the weekend.

*THIS SUNDAY Pastor Alessandri will begin an adult Sunday School class entitled, “Seeing
the Holy in the Ordinary.” Grab you coffee and snacks and come to the adult Sunday school
room to see what it is all about.

*TODAY is another God Squad Explorer’ Adventure for children from pre-school through 5th
grade. The king is having a party and you are invited! Come down to the Explorer camp at 11
am. We ask a parent or grandparent to accompany their preschooler.

*Please consider hosting a coffee fellowship after worship one Sunday this fall. You can keep
it simple. You could do it with another member or family. That time to share fellowship is a
real gift to your church community.

*This Thursday you are invited to the Crocheting, Knitting and Creating Ministry meeting at
10 am in Haven West. Both women and men are welcome. See the bulletin for more details
and see the blanket in the narthex as an example of one of the creating projects.

*October’s newsletter is available in the church lobby or on-line. Copies could also be picked
up during regular church office hours during the week. Be sure to look it over. Coming up
this month is a Pet Blessing & Pet Painting Party and the return of Trunk or Treat.

*The church office is back to our pre-pandemic schedule — 9 am to 1 pm, Monday to Friday.

This week’s concerns and joys:
*Haven provide about 40 residents of Potomac Towers to a tasty lunch last Thursday. After
several years of bagged lunches, both volunteers and residents were glad to be back in-
person. Many thanks to everyone who shared in planning, providing items and serving. Out
next lunch will be in December. Look for an invitation to participate in a few months.

*Best wishes to Brenda Manspeaker, Don Andrews, and Dawn Tice who have birthdays this
week. Congratulations to Joan and Ed Schupp who have a wedding anniversary on Thursday.

A: Bless our God, you peoples;
C: let the name of the LORD be praised. (Ps. 113: 1-3)
