Announcements ~ October 9, 2022

A: I lift up my eyes  to the hills; from where is my help to come?
C: My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. (Ps. 121: 1-2)

God’s blessings and peace to you this day. A special welcome to guests visiting with us, in
person or on-line. How wonderful it is to worship together.

* We could still use a few more volunteers to help either pack or deliver Micah’s backpacks
to Fountaindale Elementary School. You can pack them after worship on Sunday or during
the week. Do it solo, with a friend or as a family. Speak to Linda Clark if you have any
questions. Your help will mean 12 children have food over the weekend.

* Pastor Alessandri continues an adult Sunday School class entitled, “Seeing the Holy in the
Ordinary.” Grab you coffee and snacks and come to the adult Sunday school room at 11 am
to see what it is all about.

*NEXT Sunday from 2 to 3 pm Haven will hold a Pet Blessing and Painting Party. Yes, you
heard correctly — a Pet Painting Party and Blessing. Come with your pet. Come without your
pet and be part of the fun. We have flyers in the narthex. Please take a few to give to your
pet-loving friends.

*Get ready —- Trunk or Treat is returning to Haven on Monday, October 31 st . We need
members to bring their cars, a chair and candy to distribute to the many trick or treaters who
usually visit. It is a fun and easy community outreach that only takes an hour of your time and
provides a good and positive time with our neighbors and their children. Let us know you are
coming by signing up at the Sign-up Central Board.

*Won’t you please consider hosting a coffee fellowship after worship one Sunday this fall.
Keep it simple. It’s the time to be together that’s most important. You could do it with
another member or family. It is a real gift to your church community. Sign up today.

*October’s newsletter is available in the church lobby or on-line. Copies could also be picked
up during regular church office hours during the week.

*The church office is back to our pre-pandemic schedule — 9 am to 1 pm, Monday to Friday.

This week’s concerns and joys:
Pastor Alessandri now has some good news to share:
*The adult Sunday School Class would like to the thank the God Squad Explorers and their
adult helpers for the invitation to the King’s banquet last Sunday. It was so kind of you to
include us and give us a gift, too!

*Best wishes to Aura Neikirk, Kathy Wright, Ann Lochbaum and Kim Pile who have
birthdays this week. Congratulations to Dawn and Mike Freeman who have a wedding
anniversary this Friday.

A: Bless our God, you peoples; C: let the name of the LORD be praised. (Ps. 113: 1-3)
