Worship at Haven – Important Update

Dear Haven Family and Friends,

Haven Re-Opening Team met via Zoom this morning to discuss a response to the recent COVID surge and Maryland governor’s newest guidelines and restrictions.
The governor has restricted indoor gatherings to 25 with masks and social distancing required. That restriction does not, however, apply to places of worship.  So what should Haven do about worship this Sunday?

We WILL continue to have in-person worship at Haven on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Masks and social distancing will continue to be required. Hand sanitizer is available as you enter the church, in the pews and at restrooms. We believe we are practicing safe guidelines for worship.

With the current surge, we realize some may choose to return to on-line worship rather than attend worship in-person. As a community, we want each person to make the decision that feels safest for you. Together — whether at home or in the church nave — we will offer the Lord our praise and hold each other in prayer.

At this time, we ARE also planning to hold our congregational meeting on November 22. We thank all who have returned the postcard letting us know who plans to attend the meeting in-person, on-line or not at all. IF you have not returned your postcard, please send it as soon as possible so we know if will have a quorum and who needs some help learning about ZOOM. IF you have decided to change your participation from in-person to on-line, please contact the church office (havenoffice@havenlc.org) so we can have a good estimate of the number attending the meeting in person.

As we keep our eyes on COVID’s progression, the best wisdom of medical and scientific advisers and government responses, we know the Lord IS with us. That remains the constant and certainty that holds us in hope and love as we face all else. “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7) Amen.

God’s peace,
Pastor Linda M Alessandri

P.S. If you know a member who does not check or have e-mail, please call them to pass on this information. Thank you.
